Paste vs Puree

Our Pasta and Four Cheese Sauces are made with tomato puree, resulting in a fresher tasting product. Puree is cooked for a shorter time before packaging, conserving the true, fresh taste of the tomatoes. Many competitors use tomato paste made from concentrated tomatoes. Tomato paste is made by cooking the water and other nutrients out of the fruit, sacrificing freshness, flavor and purity.

All Natural, Fresh Ingredients

All of our sauces are made with 100% All Natural Ingredients. Our Marinara Sauce is made with strips of peeled tomatoes, crushed tomatoes, fresh celery, fresh onion and a blend of fresh herbs. Zio Vincenzo’s Sugo Fresco (Uncle Vinny’s Fresh Sauce) is made with San Marzano tomatoes, imported from Italy. It is our premier pasta sauce and includes fresh onions, fresh garlic, and fresh herbs.

DeVitis Sauces are made with the same integrity and ingredients as Old World Italian kitchens, unlike other pasta sauces which are made with dried vegetables, concentrated tomatoes, and hydrogenated oil.

Zio Vincenzo’s Sugo Fresco

(Uncle Vinny’s Fresh Sauce)

Zio Vincenzo’s Sugo Fresco is our premier pasta sauce and is made from imported Italian San Marzano tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil, fresh onions, fresh garlic, fresh basil, and select spices. This sauce has a fresh flavor and light, chunky texture. This sauce was the signature sauce of Uncle Vinny DeVitis, a self-taught cook who always dazzled family and friends with delicious dishes and his charming personality. Uncle Vinny passed away in 2007 but his warmth and passion for food and life is honored in every jar that bears his name.

Italian Pasta Sauce

Our Italian Pasta Sauce is our best seller. This is a traditional pasta sauce and is made from the same recipe that we perfected in the DeVitis kitchen in the 1960’s. This is a smooth sauce made from three varieties of tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil, imported Romano cheese, fresh garlic, basil and spices. This sauce is perfect for your favorite plate of pasta or as a sauce in your next homemade lasagna.

Marinara Sauce

Our Marinara Sauce is made with strips of peeled tomatoes, crushed tomatoes, fresh celery, fresh onion and a blend of fresh herbs and spices. This sauce is perfect for lighter pasta dishes due to its chunky texture and full-fresh flavor. This sauce gets its roots from the traditional way to make sauce in the Old Country where most ingredients come straight from the family garden.

Four Cheese Pasta Sauce

This sauce is perfect for any cheese lover. Featuring four of the most popular cheeses in Italy,  imported Romano cheese, asiago cheese, mozzarella cheese, and Parmigiano cheese, this sauce has a bold flavor that you are sure to love.  The sauce is also made with tomato puree, ground peeled tomatoes, crushed tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil and spices.

Meat Sauce

DeVitis Fine Italian Foods is famous for our hand crafted Italian sausage and fresh Italian pasta sauce. This sauce combines both into one jar. This sauce has a meaty flavor, with hints of fennel and anise. It also features olive oil, onions, celery, imported Romano cheese, garlic, fresh parsley, fresh basil and spices which make this flavor packed jar a must try.

Creamy Pancetta Sauce

Made directly from a recipe gifted to us from our cousins in Florence, DeVitis Creamy Pancetta Sauce is a sumptuous pasta sauce whose flavor and quality surpass expectation. This sauce unites the vibrancy of tomato, the richness of pancetta and parmesan, the warmth of peppers, and the butteriness of leeks with dulcet cream to produce a robust flavor beloved of our DeVitis family in both the Old and New Worlds.
